New Equipment @ Jibe!

We’re back with more cool updates. Firstly we are thrilled that the new Tabou boards have finally arrived. Because of "beyond our control circumstances", they took a little longer than predicted to arrive. But since last month safe and sound at Jibe, and at everyone’s disposal. We now offer several Tabou Rockets, 3S’, and Coolriders. We have tested them and are thrilled!!

Along with the new boards are over a hundred new Gaastra and Ezzy sails. These range from 3.3 all the way to 9.0. There is more than enough to go around :)
If you would like to know more about our gear, feel free to visit our website, and click on Equipment, where you can follow the links to more info.

Moonlight Sailing

In the spirit of keeping things fun and fresh at Jibe, we have introduced full moon sailing! Every month the full moon offers a beautiful spotlight on our little bay, making it fun and easy to windsurf all night long. Last month we had our first tryout and it was a huge success. More people showed up than expected and everyone had a blast. We even raised Nafl. 600 for Haiti (see next chapter). Because of its popularity we have our next Moonlight Sail already planned for the 9th of April. We are still working out food and drinks, but everyone is welcome! (Let’s pray for twenty knots at least).

Fundraiser for Haiti

Did you know that Haiti is the third poorest country in the world? On February 15th 2009, Jibe City hosted a fundraiser for underprivileged children, adults, and families in Haiti. The sight of the poverty there is clearly upsetting to all, but especially struck a chord with us here at Jibe, being that Haiti is only a couple hundred miles from us. With the help of many giving hands, and dedicated volunteers we, our customers, locals and other tourists raised 21.000 GUILDERS (12,000 US)!!!! There were auctions, live performances from Becky Alter, Sting Ray's and Steve/Jeroen unplugged, races, and even betting on tricks that our pros here were sporting for audiences. All in all it was a huge success. It truly surpassed any goals we had set when taking on the project. Thank you SOOOO much to all who were involved and donated. Every cent counts (as you can see), so again thank you.

There is a wonderful video and description of the fundraiser on this website: http://www.forumantilles.com/haiti/

See you later!
