October 11th, 2010: Changes at Jibe City

Dear Jibe City Friends,

After running the Jibe City Beachbar for 6 years with much satisfaction, we have decided to hand over the wheel to Willem and Christine van Dijk.  Willem and Christine have a great deal of food and beverage experience and have already proven to really fit into the Jibe vibe.

So we want to wish them huge success with running the bar.

3 years ago we found a business partner and manager in Dirk Jan Methorst for the windsurfing part of Jibe City. A while ago, Dirk Jan found a new challenge and took over Sorobon Beach Resort, which is located next to Jibe City. This, of course, requires all of his attention and so he will be leaving Jibe City.

We also want to wish Dirk Jan much success with this big new step.

We have chosen to run the windsurfing part of the business ourselves. Gertjan de Man will be the new manager, who for many of you is not an unfamiliar face at Jibe. He knows all the ins and outs at Jibe and is what you could call a real "Windsurf freak".

Gertjan, Fen, Vanessa, Caesar, "Dread Lock" Jayson, Tonky, Youp and Jason are excited to enter the new windsurf season. As for now, the whole crew is working hard on maintenance, repair and improvements for the upcoming season. In the next newsletter we will talk about this and more, in-depth.

We would like to thank all of you for the great new friends we've made over the years, and all the fun times we've had together.

We are sure that we will see each other again at Jibe City.
